Admittedly, it is challenging to create a Detroit Lions t-shirt. The Lions have never played in the Super Bowl. There has been one playoff victory in the last 50 years. They are one of two franchises to have an 0-16 season. There have been some bright spots, however, over the years. The most famous of these is #20, Barry Sanders, with his highlight reel runs that gave hope to the long suffering fan base before his abrupt retirement in 1999. Yet he is not the only famous Detroit Lions #20. Lem Barney first gave the jersey glory during a Hall of Fame career as a defensive back and punt returner from 1969-1978. Two years later, Billy Sims wearing #20 infused excitement and victories. He too was on his way to the Hall of Fame until a knee injury ended his career. Lem, Billy, and Barry: three perennial Pro-Bowlers with the same number for the same franchise. A unique and bright spot for the fans of the Honolulu Blue and an image that looks great on a t-shirt.
